They come up with a plan to lock the parrot in a golden cage and feed it pieces of books. But instead of becoming better, the parrot gets weaker and sadder. It can no longer sing or fly. When the king comes to check on the parrot, he sees it is no longer happy. However, the king and his ministers say they have been successful, even though the parrot is not well.
The story ends sadly, showing us that strict rules and unnatural ways are not good for living creatures.

এই গল্পটি একটি রাজা সম্পর্কে, যে তোতাপাখিটিকে শিক্ষা দিয়ে তাকে ভালো করতে চায়। সে মনে করে তোতাপাখির শিক্ষার প্রয়োজন, তাই সে তার মন্ত্রী এবং পণ্ডিতদের সাহায্য করতে নির্দেশ দেয়। তারা একটি পরিকল্পনা তৈরি করে, যাতে তোতাটিকে সোনালী খাঁচায় বন্ধ করা হয় এবং তাকে বইয়ের টুকরা খাওয়ানো হয়।
কিন্তু তোতাটি ভালো হওয়ার বদলে আরও দুর্বল এবং দুঃখী হয়ে পড়ে। সে আর গান গাইতে বা উড়তে পারে না। যখন রাজা তোতাটিকে দেখতে আসে, তখন সে দেখে যে তোতাটি আর খুশি নয়। তবে রাজা এবং তার মন্ত্রীরা বলছেন তারা সফল হয়েছে, যদিও তোতাটি ভালো নয়।
